Frequently Asked Questions

Only your responsible building authority can give you binding information as to whether a building permit is required for the construction of the garden house in your case. The exact regulations for this differ depending on the municipality or federal state. Check out our basic info article on Garden shed building permit to get a rough overview in advance.

The basic features – such as wall thickness and dimensions – are fixed and cannot be changed. For our garden houses with high doors, the wall thickness is always 28 mm. If you prefer a different wall thickness, there are numerous alternative garden sheds to choose from in our range, but they then have a normal height door (depending on the model 175 cm to 180 cm).

At the planned location of your new garden house with a high door, there should be either a full-surface paving foundation, a foundation slab, a point foundation or a strip foundation. We do not currently offer our own assembly service for our garden sheds with increased clearance dimensions or our standard models. On request, however, we will be happy to provide you with a list of installation service providers with whom we have already had good experience.

Yes, all our garden sheds, saunas and other products are designed for the most uncomplicated self-assembly possible. So you can easily build your new garden house with a high door, even as a layman. Important: In terms of minimum number of people and assembly order, follow the easy-to-follow instructions that come with the packages.

Treat the wooden garden house with blue stain primer or a comparable primer to protect it against wind and weather. Impregnation with a protective wood glaze is also important.
