Karibu Holztechnik GmbH is a manufacturer of wood products for the garden and operates an online shop for direct ordering of these products. Via the website Karibu.de, Karibu offers consumers the opportunity to select garden sheds, saunas, carports, pavilions, children's play equipment, garden furniture and other products directly from the manufacturer and purchase them conveniently online.

Explanations of the performance of the service

The online shop Karibu.de is used via a common web browser without having to install additional software. Users can operate the website without any restrictions. In particular, the following features are available to select products and complete a purchase:

- Product research:
You can browse by product category (e.g. garden sheds, saunas, pools, etc.) via the navigation or use the search function to find specific products. Detailed product descriptions, technical data and pictures will help you make your choice.

- Product configuration:
For some products (e.g. garden sheds or saunas), our website offers configuration options. For example, you can choose the size, colour or features of a product.

- Shopping cart and ordering process: Desired items can be placed by clicking on "Add to cart". You can then check the shopping cart and go to the checkout area. There, all the necessary information is requested step by step (billing and delivery address, shipping method, payment method, etc.). You have the option to check and change entries at any time.

- Order completion:
The purchase contract is concluded by clicking on the "Buy now" button at the end of the ordering process. Beforehand, you will receive a summary of your order. By clicking on the order button, you place a binding order and you will receive an order confirmation by e-mail.

- Additional assistance:
Our website provides various information pages (e.g. FAQ, Guide, About Us) on which processes and terms are explained. We strive for clear, understandable language. Users with impaired vision also have the option of using the WebAccess assistance software: This tool is integrated into our website and allows, for example, the adjustment of font sizes, contrasts and other ease of use. The use of this assistive software only requires a click on the appropriately marked symbol on the website – no further installations are necessary.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

The above-mentioned service is partially compatible with the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG).

The following parts/contents/functions of the service are not accessible:

  • Some PDF documents (e.g. assembly instructions) are not barrier-free.
  • The website is not yet fully operable with a keyboard or screen reader.
  • Occasionally insufficient color contrasts in texts and buttons.
  • Link texts such as "here" are not always meaningful.
  • Form fields are sometimes insufficiently labeled or difficult to grasp with screen readers.
  • Some images do not have meaningful alternative texts.

Non-barrier-free parts of the service - implementation deadlines

We are currently gradually removing the above barriers. Continuous work is being done to improve accessibility, and we plan to completely remedy these deficiencies in the near future.
