Disposal instructions

1. Information on the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment Information in accordance with the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)

Old electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of in the household waste for disposal, but must be disposed of separately from it.

The following symbol on electrical appliances and/or their packaging indicates that this device may only be disposed of separately from other types of waste and not via household waste (grey or yellow bin, paper waste, organic waste bin or glass container).

If the products contain batteries and rechargeable batteries or lamps that can be removed from the old appliance in a non-destructive manner, these must be removed before disposal and disposed of separately as batteries or lamps, cf. Section 10 (1) sentence 2 ElektroG.

By handing over the devices free of charge at the approved take-back points and at the municipalities, professional and proper disposal is ensured. You can find a take-back point in your area at: https://www.ear-system.de/ear-verzeichnis/sammel-und-ruecknahmestellen#no-back. In addition, under certain conditions, the return is also possible from distributors, cf. § 17 (1) and (2) ElektroG. According to this, distributors who sell their products using means of distance communication are obliged to take back old equipment from private end users if the storage and shipping areas for electrical and electronic equipment are at least 400 m².

In this case, the return must be free of charge when purchasing a new device of the same type. (1:1 withdrawal) Regardless of this, there is the possibility of returning the old devices to the distributor free of charge. The prerequisite for this is that the external dimensions are no larger than 25 centimetres and that the return is limited to three old appliances per type of appliance (0:1 take-back).

We would like to point out to all end-users of WEEE that they are responsible for deleting personal data on the WEEE to be disposed of.

According to § 18 paragraph 2 sentence 3 ElektroG, we have to inform you - in accordance with the EU Waste Framework Directive - whether and to what extent the collection and recycling quotas in Germany are achieved. This information is provided by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety at https://www.bmu.de/themen/wasser-abfall-boden/abfallwirtschaft/statistiken/elektro-und-elektronikaltgeraete/provided.

Disused LED and energy-saving and fluorescent lamps also do not belong in household waste, as they contain electronic components.

Environmentally friendly disposal ensures that valuable components of the lamps, such as glass and metal, are not lost, but are recycled. When recycling old lamps, the pollutants contained in small quantities can also be removed professionally. Used lamps in normal household quantities are accepted by small quantity collection points in addition to the municipal recycling centres.

2. Note on the disposal of batteries

Since we sell batteries and accumulators or devices containing batteries and rechargeable batteries, we are obliged under the Battery Act (BattG) to draw your attention to the following:
Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of in household waste, but you are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. Used batteries can contain harmful substances that can affect the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc and manganese or nickel and are recycled. You can return the batteries free of charge after use in the immediate vicinity (e.g. in shops or in municipal collection points). The crossed-out dustbin (see below) means that you must not dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries in household waste. Below this sign you will also find the following symbols with the following meaning:

Cd: Battery contains cadmium

Hg: Battery contains mercury

Pb: Battery contains lead
