Harzgallen

Resin galls are resin-filled cavities in tree trunks of resin-rich wood species (e.g. spruce, pine, larch). If these cavities are opened by sawing or planing the wood during processing, the sticky resin will leak out there. You can easily wipe this off with an acetone-soaked cloth.
