A ground anchor for the climbing tower and playhouse ensures that the playground equipment remains firmly in place and that the risk of tipping over is eliminated. So ground anchors are the most important thing, so to speak Playhouse Accessories that exists.
What ground anchors are there? The Different Types Explained
Ground anchors should be made of sturdy, stainless material such as galvanized steel to provide high stability over the long term. Depending on the location of the climbing frame or playhouse, other types of ground anchors are recommended:
· Standard flat ground anchors are specially made for anchoring in concrete. This means that the playground equipment is very secure, but the installation is somewhat more complex, as the ground anchors have to be concreted in. Even if you want to remove the climbing frame and thus the ground anchors at some point, ground anchors embedded in concrete can be problematic.
· Swing anchors for screwing in can be easily placed in the ground to achieve sufficient stability. Another advantage is that ground anchors can be easily removed later for screwing-in, which is especially important if you live in a rented house.
Substrates for ground anchors and what measures they require
In order to set up a climbing frame or playhouse safely, a flat, compact surface should be selected. If the substrate is compact enough, a playhouse ground anchor can easily be used for screwing in. Installation is particularly easy, because the ground anchor is simply screwed into the ground with a little effort and then ensures a firm hold.
If the substrate is not firm enough, anchoring with concrete is recommended to increase safety. To anchor ground anchors for climbing frames and playhouses with concrete in the ground, proceed as follows:
1. Dig holes under two corners of the jungle gym. A depth of approx. 55 cm and a circumference of approx. 40 cm are recommended.
2. Install two ground anchors at the corresponding corners of the playground equipment. To do this, the holes are drilled first and then the ground anchors are attached to the post.
3. Fill the holes with concrete until the ground anchors are covered with concrete up to the marked line.
4. Make sure that the ground anchors have completely disappeared into the ground and do not protrude from the ground so that the children do not trip over them.
5. Allow the concrete to dry well before the children use the jungle gym. As a rule, a drying time of 24 hours is sufficient, but the exact drying time depends on the weather conditions.
6. Once the concrete has dried, fill the holes with soil to cover everything.
